Primary mesenteric vein thrombosis in pregnancy
Abstract
Acute abdomen due to primary mesenteric vein thrombosis is rarely encountered in pregnancy. The diagnosis is usually delayed due to lack of positive signs in the initial stages of the disease and lack of awareness among primary physicians. We managed one 29 years old primigravida by exploratory laparotomy, resection of gangrenous gut and anticoagulation.
